About
Helene Carras, a Charlotte-area native, boasts a rich and diverse background. She graduated from UNC Chapel Hill and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Afterwards, she obtained her Master's Degree in Public Administration from The University of Oklahoma where she was elected to Pi Alpha Alpha, the National Honor Society for Public Affairs and Administration. Additionally, she holds a Masters of Military Art and Science in Theater Operations from The School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS) at Command and General Staff College. With an impressive 30 years of experience in the U.S. Army, Helene retired as a U.S. Army Officer, having served in various capacities including in Afghanistan and Iraq, and earning accolades such as the Legion of Merit award.
Throughout her military career, Helene showcased a multitude of skills ranging from leadership and strategic planning to communication and risk management, serving in diverse staff functions from company level to The Department of Defense. Helene finds fulfillment in contributing to an organization that aids individuals in navigating complex life challenges in an ever-evolving world. She believes in embracing new challenges and opportunities daily.
In her leisure time, Helene indulges in her passions for travel, language acquisition—German, Russian, and Dari Persian—and staying abreast of current global affairs.
